Letter from Our President

Hello PYFC Families!

It's hard to believe we are less then 2 months away from our first practice! For those of you who are new to the program, my name is Melissa Johnston and I will be serving as President for the 2019 season. This is my second year as president, and third on the board. I have a daughter Peyton Watson on A Team Cheer, and my son Dean Watson will be playing B team football. I've grown up in Penfield all of my life, and am proud to be a part of such a wonderful program.

At this point you should have received welcome emails from our cheer and football directors detailing some important save the date information. If you haven't received any emails please bounce back so we can be sure you receive proper communication. In the coming weeks you will also be receiving (if you haven't already) emails from your coaches. This year we will be using the Dick's Team Manager app to communicate any changes that need to be made. Please download the app using the email you used when creating your account during registration.

Upcoming Dates:
6/15 Equipment Handout #1 10A-12P **Please see attached flyers for what to bring
6/26 Equipment Handout #2 6P-8P
7/31 Mandatory Cheer Parent Meeting 6-7PM
8/1 First day of practice for ALL teams :)
8/17- Scrimmages TBD
8/23 Annual Bonfire
8/25 First regular Season Games

Outstanding Paperwork: If you still owe any outstanding paperwork you may turn in on either of the equipment handouts (cheer as well). You should have been contacted if you still owe paperwork at this time.

Game Schedule: I will not have the official league schedule until early August. As soon as I receive it your coaches will communicate that with you!.

Fundraising: Every year, we only require our families to participate in one fundraiser. We do a raffle at our annual bonfire with amazing prizes! Each FAMILY is required to sell one book of 20 tickets ($100 worth) minimum but may choose to sell more to up your chances at winning! We will be handing them out at equipment hand outs this year or at the cheer parent meeting. Like last year the top two selling families (1 cheer and 1 football) will receive an additional prize.

We have an amazing board and coaching staff that all work together and volunteer their time throughout the year to make this program run. Without them there would be no program! If you're interested in joining our board, shadowing a position etc. please let us know! That being said this is a volunteer program and all families in the program are required to volunteer for game day. Volunteer requirements, and sign ups will be communicated to you at the parent meetings in the next few months.
